Keeping it real
Mathias is a documentary, commercial, and editorial photographer, filmmaker, and writer with a penchant for rugged adventures and wild experiences. His inclination for suffering is a perfect match for a desire to capture and share moments that send goosebumps rippling across your skin.
Mathias' passion for expeditions has taken him as far south as New Zealand and North as Alaska, in a perpetual search of awe-inspiring terrain, untouched lines, and far away waves. His work has been published in Climbing Magazine, The Alpine Journal, Freeskier Magazine, and The New Zealand Skier.
Most recently, Mathias co-created The Nunatak, a colorful and unapologetic print journal publishing unique stories in the outdoor realm.
When he's not out on a mission, he can be found at his home near Carbondale, Colorado, scouring topo maps, fermenting something weird, or trying to make his dog Hootie famous.
